BECE graduates can apply for SHS admission on this date, according to the GES.

The Ghana Education Service after releasing the 2021 BECE students’ school placement says the next batch of the free education beneficiaries from today can visit their placed school to start the SHS admission processes for enrolment.

In a statement copied to EducationWeb, GES said students who were not automatically placed into any of the selected choices are to go visit the self-placement module to select any available school and also proceed for admission.

“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to remind parents, guardians and students, that admission processes for first-years in all Senior High/Technical schools are going on smoothly,” the Service stated on Thursday.

In the press release dated Thursday, March 31, 2022, the Ghana Education Service (GES) said the 2022 academic year government Senior High/Technical schools admission process does not involve payment or collection of money.

“School Authorities are cautioned that under no circumstances should there be a demand for money that would hinder the admission process of any the placed student,” the statement signed by the Education Service spokesperson stated.

In line with President Akufo-Addo’s decision to relax some coronavirus restrictions in the country, the management of the GES has indicated it will in due course communicate to students reviewed guidelines on the Covid-19 protocols.

“In the meantime, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) recommends wearing of face mask in an enclosed environment including classrooms and other areas which require large gatherings of students in the schools,” It noted in the release.

Following an appeal for the school reopening date of the 5th batch of Free Senior High School (Free SHS) students to be postponed amid delay in the school placement release, the GES said the reporting day remains April 4, 2022.

“Parents, teachers, students and members of the general public are now that the reopening date of the first-year SHS/TVET students remains April 4, 2022, as indicated on their placement form,” the GES Thursday statement stated.
