THE OUTGONE AcCE SRC PRESIDENT, MR. BRIGHT BOSOMTWE |
ACCRA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION SRC
SITUATIONAL REPORT DELIVERED BY THE SRC PRESIDENT, MR. BRIGHT BOSOMTWE, ON THE OCCASION OF THE SRC HANDING OVER AND SWEARING-IN CEREMONY AT THE COLLEGE AUDITORIUM ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13,2O22.
INTRODUCTION
Benjamin Franklin once said, '' If you would not be forgotten, as soon as you are dead and rotten, either write things worth reading or do things worth the writing."
Mr Chairman, indefatigable Principal and Vice-Principal, Industrious Staff and Non-teaching Staff, Distinguished Dean of Student’s Affairs, Our most valued invited Guests, Able SRC Executives and Commissioners, Newly elected SRC Executives and Commissioners, Respected Ladies and Gentlemen, all protocols duly observed. A very good afternoon to everyone.
To commence, l warmly welcome you all and wish to take this unique opportunity to extend our recondite gratitude to God, all and sundry here present for your unflinching support and cooperation during our successful tenure in office.
Mr Chairman, the outgoing student leadership assumed office on the 8th of November, 2019 during the first semester of the 2019/2020 academic year after we took over from the Solomon Akwetey-led administration. It was an awesome moment and a real experience to be the pioneers of the 4-years Bachelor of Education program coupled with the task of administrative duties as student leaders. Today is a remarkable day which marks the dawn of a new era as we unveil the newly elected SRC Executives and appointed Commissioners who will champion the cause of our noble association to greater heights in the 2021/2022 academic year and beyond.
OUR JOURNEY
It is worth noting that we commenced on a good note by further appointing some Commissioners to assist the leadership in its effective delivery of its mandate in the quest of serving the interest and needs of the student community. However, at the commencement of the second semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, our intended activities and plans for the academic year were unfortunately disrupted by the emergence of the novel Corona Virus pandemic which resulted in the closing down of schools nationwide and subsequent adoption of online mode of engaging students in academic activities.
Thereafter, College Management recommended that the current SRC administration should proceed with another one year term in office which also commenced on good note within the 2020/2021 academic year and ended in the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year as resolved by the SRC General Assembly and College Management.

To this end, we are indeed grateful to God Almighty for the blessings and challenges he has bestowed upon us. They have all provided us with opportunities to grow. Our noble Principal (DR. SAMUEL A. ATINTONO) deserves special recognition. He has played a crucial role in this administration. We appreciate all of your assistance during these trying times. We are extremely fortunate to have been the first group of Bachelor of Education student leaders to work with you after you took over as the College's Principal.
We also express our heartfelt gratitude to our Distinguished Vice Principal, Dean of Student Affairs, College Chaplain, Tutors and Non-teaching Staff, the entire student populace, stakeholders and anyone else who assisted us in diverse ways during our successful tenure in office.

Please forgive us. On behalf of the SRC Executives and Commissioners, we extend our best wishes to the incoming SRC administration and wish them success in their endeavours.
