MoE pronounces ‘new date’ to release school placement 2021


 

Barring any circumstance, the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) will release school placement of students who sat for 2021 BECE by the end of this week, the spokesman for Education Ministry has said.

Speaking on Accra-based Kessben FM’s Kanawu show monitored by EducationWeb, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ministry of Education said the general public particularly students are to expect the within the week.

“The relevant stakeholders in charge of the computer school placement on Tuesday met and a decision has been made to release the school placement by end of this week, let’s say by Friday, March 25,” the spokesperson told Kessben.

Asked if the majority of students who sat for the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will get school posting, Kwasi Kwarteng said adequate measures have been put in place to ensure they all get placement this week.

“All qualified BECE students will get placement but the fact that all students will be posted does not mean are compromising quality. Students who had grade 9 in English Language and Mathematics will not be posted,” he said.

He indicated the just-ended secondary school verification and confirmation by candidates who partook in the national examination among other measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth computer school placement this year.

“If a student is not placed automatically, there is a chance for him or her to do self-placement at the self-placement portal and enrol into any of the various available public second cycle schools,” he told the host of Kanawu show.

The Communications Director further disclosed the Ministry for Education led by Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum is working tirelessly together with the various security agencies in the country to arrest school placement fraudsters.

“The public is assured that the Ministry is working together with security agencies to ensure any group of persons caught in this unlawful act shall be made to face the law,” the Education Ministry spokesman assured parents.

He also cautioned the public particle parents against the payment of monies to unscrupulous persons offering to secure their preferred choices ahead of the 2022 computerized school placement into Senior High/TVET schools.

According to him, approximately 500,000 prospective Junior High School (JHS) graduates who sat for the 31st edition of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School by end of this week will get school placement.
