TTAG gives updates on College allowance, exams & practicum fee

The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) following concerns raised by teacher trainees in various Colleges of Education (CoE) about the examination, project work and teaching practicum fee has given an update on the issue.

In a release copied to EducationWeb, TTAG said the varied fees charges for exams by some mentor universities to their affiliated Colleges of Education has come to its attention and has taken steps to seek clarification on the fee variation

Commenting on teaching practicum and project work fee charges, the Association said it has officially written to the Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education to consider withdrawal of the fees for some pertinent reasons.

“In pursuant to the release by the Institute of Education UCC dated on February 2022, the leadership has officially written to the Director-General of the Ghana Tertiary Education to consider withdrawal of the fees,” TTAG stated.

On the feeding component of the 4 months paid trainees allowances, the Teachers Association said local TTAG presidents are to liaise with College Authorities to ensure deductions and refunds are made to trainees immediately.

“On the instance of obscurity, leaders are asked to make reference to the release by Ghana Tertiary Education (GTEC) or contact their sector or National Executives for assistance,” the Ghana Teacher Trainees said in the press release.

It added “to this end we want to appreciate all our stakeholders, associate members and all teacher trainees for the immeasurable continuous support. We want to reiterate our commitment to serve and remain at your beck and call.”
