THE OUTGONE EXECUTIVES

In the speech delivered by Bosomtwe Bright the Ex-President of Accra College of Education SRC during the handover ceremony yesterday, and as the leader of the previous leadership unveiled 20 projects and services achieved in their jurisdiction

ACHIEVEMENTS BY BOSOMTWE'S GOVERNMENT

• The outgoing SRC administration furnished the old secretariat with two 32 inches flat-screen television and satellite dishes, a refrigerator, noticeboards, an office table and chair.
• Procured a laptop, camera and a multi-purpose printer to aid in administrative duties.
• Advocated strongly for metal beds and extra fans in the halls of residence of both males and females to address the issue of bed bugs.
•  Distributed free branded broaches to all Commissioners and SRC Executives.
•  Established the AcCESRC Media to enhance the publicity of both SRC and the College-related activities.
• Procured garden chairs on campus, in the halls of residence and in front of the administration block.
•  Drafted and strongly advocated for the approval and subsequent promulgation of the SRC Constitution as a working document.
•   Collaborated with Management by relinquishing the old SRC secretariat to be used as a College clinic that will serve the health needs of students and staff in the College.
•  Purchased football, volleyball, net and poles for the Volleyball court as a contribution to sporting activities.
•  Purchased DSTV satellite dish, and decoder, and paid some monthly subscriptions for the DSTV at the cafeteria.  
• Successfully organized General Assemblies, Open Forum, Akwaaba Celebration, Quiz and Debate, Movie night, Breast cancer awareness, Gender summit, Inter-hall sporting activities.
• Renovated the old cafeteria tables to give them a face-lift.
•  Procured SRC Friday wear to students.
• Advocated strongly for College mattresses to be given to final year students during their out program segment at a subsidized cost.
• Collaborated with Management to provide Vodafone package which includes free calls,150 minutes to other networks, 100 SMS, and 5120 MB of data to students and academic staff for online learning activities during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
•  Advocated strongly for extension of WiFi to the halls of residence and lecture halls
•  Constructed a studio cabin at the College auditorium to enhance the effective usage of the Public Address System in the auditorium.
•  Participated in TTAG National, EGA and National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS activities) ie; Congress, Sector Executive Council Meetings, General Assembly, Quiz and Debate etc.
•  Advocated strongly for the creation of a polling station to enable students to participate in national elections on campus.
•  Refurbished the ultramodern SRC Secretariat which has three offices, a conference room, a storeroom and two air conditioners.

The above are the accomplishments of the previous AcCE SRC Leadership orchestrated by Bosomtwe Bright, who reigned from 2019 to 2022. The longest tenure of office ever in the chronicles of Accra College of Education.
