A student-teacher of Accra college of education by the name of Ebenezer Kwame Siw Donkor initiates a sanitation technology into the education sector to keep our environment and Ghana at large clean. Peruse his press released communique below👇👇👇👇.
THE SWEEP GHANA PROJECT
Ebenezer Donkor (Teacher Kwame) writes..The most visible impacts of plastic debris are the ingestion, suffocation and entanglement of hundreds of marine species. Marine wildlife such as seabirds, whales, fish and turtles mistake plastic waste for prey; most then die of starvation as their stomachs become filled with plastic.
Ghana generates around 1.1 million tons of plastic waste per year. Only 5% of which is collected for recycling. Animal choking, pollution, and blockage of channels, rivers, streams, and landscape disfigured are all negative effects of plastic waste in general. It also has Negative Effects on Human Health. We eat plastic-contaminated seafood.
It Upsets the Food Chain, Groundwater Pollution, Land Pollution, Air Pollution, It Kills Animals, is Poisonous. It has greatly contributed to climate change. Sunlight and heat cause the plastic to release powerful greenhouse gases, leading to an alarming feedback loop.

TEACHER-STUDENT OF ACCRA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION |
As a geography and social studies student teacher who has been embedded in solving social, ecological and climate change( environmental) challenges, cannot just be writing exams on these to pass but actively work on what I produce on scripts.
As a global volunteer for AIESEC international who has undergone training on how to work on the SDGs ( sustainable development goals) cannot just sit down without walking the talk.
Walking on the principal streets of Accra and Kasoa in Ghana, and seeing the uncountable number of plastic waste along our roadsides and vicinities gives me a reason to act now.
I know there are like-minded young energetic youths who want to have a platform to contribute to the solution of this chronic challenge.
See, let's sweep Ghana together. Let's come together to pick all the sachet Rubbers in Ghana and recycle them.
You know what? yours is to pick them together in bulk quantity, I will come and buy them.
I will also get to the street to pick them up. Let's do this together for two months and see what will happen.
We will keep Ghana clean and turn waste into cash.
Who told you there is no job in Ghana? Waste Sachet Rubber business ( Recycle) is a global multi-million trending industry. Let's venture into it.
Let's brand it to look attractive and remove the shyness by getting to the street for a worthy cause. There is money on the street.
When we do this, we will be concurrently solving economic and Environmental problems together.
I am a tertiary student who is getting to the street.
