Science and Maths Quiz, a Hit at ROM International School

Patience Wins in a Close Contest

The much-anticipated Science and Maths Quiz at ROM International School took place today, 11th Oct. 2024 with the four sections—Patience, Faithfulness, Perseverance, and Love—engaging in an exciting and educational competition. Organized by quiz masters Sir Prosper Wise Amegbe and Madam Priscilla Sogbey, both Mathematics and Science teachers, the event was a blend of entertainment, insightful learning, and light-hearted moments. With the support of the headteacher and the teaching staff, the competition went off without a hitch.

The Competition Breakdown

The quiz consisted of three rounds: general questions, true or false questions, and a final riddle round. At the end of Round 1, the scores were as follows:

Interpretation of Results

Round 1 saw Love taking the lead with 17 points, far ahead of the others, while Faithfulness and Patience trailed close behind.

Round 2, with its tricky true or false format, proved to be a challenge, especially for Perseverance and Love, both losing points and ending with negative scores (-1 each). Patience, however, pushed ahead with 3 points.

Round 3, the riddle round, saw Faithfulness and Patience dominate with 20 points each, bringing the competition neck and neck for the top spot. Ultimately, Patience came out victorious with a total of 31 points.

A Celebration of Learning

After a tense and fun-filled competition, Patience emerged as the winner, proving that slow and steady wins the race—literally! All contestants were awarded exercise books and pens for their efforts, while the winning section received an additional honour: a certificate of achievement for each representative of Patience. The joy and excitement on the faces of the participants were undeniable.

Love may have run out of luck after Round 1, and Faithfulness got a little shaky in Round 2. But Patience? Well, it certainly paid off!
