The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) as schools prepares to end the first quarter of the 2022 academic year has announced April 7, 2022, as the first-term vacation date for public basic schools across the country.
The first term of the 2022 academic year which commenced on January 18, 2022, the management of the Education Service in a release copied to EducationWeb said will end April 7 for students to break for academic activities.
Commending teachers for their enormous contribution to the education sector, GES said “management of sends its complements to all staff and wishes to thank them for their unflinching support in implementing education policies.”

According to the GES statement, dated March 22, 2022, the second term of the 2022 academic year will commence on May 10, 2022, to August 11, 2022, and the third term from September 13, 2022, to December 15, 2022.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) in a suggestion of 7:00 am to 2:00 pm, 7:30 am to 2:30 pm and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm additional contact hours for basic schools said they are dependent on the particular circumstances of the community.
“By this letter, Regional Directors of Education are to communicate to all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education to ensure that Heads of Basic Schools take note and implement accordingly,” GES noted on Tuesday.
