WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THEM: Promising Candidates Emerge for Accra College of Education's SRC President Role in 2023 Elections.

 



Accra College of Education is abuzz with anticipation as the 2023 Student Representative Council (SRC) elections draw near. Several candidates and their running mates have stepped forward, each with a unique vision and dedication to improving the college experience for their fellow students. Let's take a closer look at the promising contenders vying for the position of SRC President and Vice President.


FIRST PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

First up is Dzandu Marvellous Agage, a Level 300 student majoring in Mathematics and Science. With a strong emphasis on discipline, hard work, and proactive decision-making, Dzandu showcases qualities that make him a reliable and action-driven leader. Not only is he a team player, but he also thrives on collaborating with individuals from diverse backgrounds, recognizing the strength that comes from embracing different perspectives. Having served at Fafa's Bake House and Construction for a combined duration of four years, Dzandu has gained valuable experience that he intends to leverage to address key challenges such as dormitory problems, water systems, and lighting infrastructure. His vision is to implement the sachet rubber project, utilizing the generated income to make tangible improvements to student facilities.




Paired with Dzandu is Janet Adjokatse, a Level 300 student specializing in Social Studies and Religious and Moral Education (RME). Janet brings a compassionate and dedicated approach to her candidacy, with a focus on love, passion, and service. With a track record of discipline and excellence, Janet aspires to elevate the reputation of Accra College of Education (ACCE) to new heights. Her vision aligns with Dzandu's, aiming to work closely with lawmakers to permanently solve issues concerning water supply and lighting. Together, they are determined to prove to the administration their capabilities in handling student affairs.


SECOND PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

Another formidable candidate is Richmond Adjei, (An Ewe) whose humble beginnings in the Brong Ahafo region have shaped his perspective and drive to effect change. A B.Ed. astudent majoring in ICT and Geography, Richmond has already demonstrated his commitment to student advocacy and activism. His passion for keeping abreast of current political issues, coupled with his love for music and reading, has equipped him with a well-rounded approach to leadership. Richmond's primary focus is to champion student interests and ensure that the voice of the student body is heard and served.

Partnering with Richmond is Dora Adu, a vibrant and academically accomplished third-year student pursuing a Science major and Mathematics minor. Born and raised in Accra, Dora has consistently excelled in her studies and aims to channel her passion for teaching into shaping the leaders of tomorrow. During her time in primary school, she was awarded as one of the outstanding students and also got the opportunity to represent her school as a participant in STMIE 2013. In her junior high school days, she did exceptionally well and came out as the student with the best raw score in her school when she sat for B.E.C.E.

With a strong inclination toward teamwork and adaptability, she strives to create a positive and inclusive environment for all students. Dora's vision centers on making a lasting impact on society by providing new opportunities and restoring hope to those around her.


THIRD PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

Completing the roster of candidates is Seth Abassah Sarpong, affectionately known as Seth Vals on campus. This young Ghanaian man, hailing from the Tema Metropolis, possesses a remarkable combination of humility, diligence, and strong interpersonal skills. Currently an L300 B.Ed. JHS Education student with a focus on Geography and Social Studies, Seth aspires to be a lawyer, politician, and philanthropist. His vision for ACCE revolves around fostering an equitable and inclusive school environment where students have equal access to resources and opportunities.




Supporting Seth is Sharifat Saeed, an administrator at S.A.I.D Academy and a member of the local organizing team at the International Institute of Islamic Thought. Pursuing a B.Ed. with a Science and IT major, Sharifat's extensive experience as the head teacher and PTA Secretary at Iqra Educational Centre showcases her organizational skills and commitment to educational development. Aspiring to the position of SRC Vice President, she aims to contribute to the overall growth and welfare of the student body.

With a diverse pool of talented candidates and their equally dedicated running mates, the upcoming SRC elections at Accra College of Education promise an exciting contest.
