 Accra College of Education is abuzz with anticipation as the 2023 Student Representative Council (SRC) elections draw near. Among the many remarkable individuals vying for various positions, two outstanding teacher-trainees, Narh Rosemond Dede and Suweba Habibu Tijani, have caught the attention of their peers and faculty members as they compete for the esteemed role of Gender Commissioner. With their unique backgrounds, exceptional qualities, and unwavering dedication, these candidates are set to make a lasting impact on gender-related issues on campus.


FIRST CANDIDATE

Narh Rosemond Dede, hailing from La and born to Mr. and Mrs. Narh, has a solid educational foundation. She completed her basic education at Cedar Hills School and went on to pursue her secondary education at Oyoko Methodist Senior High in Koforidua. Currently, Dede is a diligent B.Ed JHS Education student at Accra College of Education (AcCE), specializing in English and Ghanaian Language (Twi). As an intern teacher at Blissman School, she brings practical experience to her campaign.




Narh Rosemond Dede's specialization in English and Ghanaian Language (Twi) provides her with a deep understanding of the importance of language in shaping societal perceptions. She aims to foster an environment that encourages open dialogue, raising awareness about gender issues and empowering students to challenge stereotypes. Dede's diverse educational background and experience as an intern teacher enable her to connect with students and effectively advocate for their needs.

SECOND CANDIDATE

Suweba Habibu Tijani, a level 300 primary student-teacher at GBERBIE HALL, has already made a name for herself as the FACE OF ACCE. Known for her problem-solving abilities, confidence, competence, and excellent communication skills, Tijani is a natural choice for the position of Gender Commissioner. Her strong sense of discipline, hard work, remarkable academic performance, and ability to turn adversity into advantage have become proverbial among her peers. Moreover, Tijani's friendly demeanor and approachability make her a relatable and trustworthy candidate.




Suweba Habibu Tijani's charismatic personality and problem-solving skills make her an ideal candidate for the role of Gender Commissioner. She is committed to promoting inclusivity and empowering all students, regardless of their gender. Tijani envisions organizing programs and workshops that provide a platform for dialogue and education on gender-related matters. Her goal is to create an environment where everyone feels heard, respected, and supported.
