BREAKING NEWS: CETAG Suspends Strike, Students to Return to Classes

In a major development, the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has announced the suspension of their strike, following a majority decision reached during a voting process supervised by the National Executive Committee (NEC) on September 4th, 2023.

The decision, which comes as a relief to student-teachers across the country, means that the strike will be officially called off starting from Tuesday, September 5th, 2023. CETAG, however, has made it clear that they reserve the right to reconsider the strike if all the Arbitral Awards are not implemented by the Employer/Ministry of Education before October 31st, 2023.

The VOTE Results

In light of this development, all CETAG members are expected to resume work no later than Thursday, September 7th, 2023.

This decision brings hope to the educational sector in Ghana and signifies a step toward normalcy in colleges of education. Students can now look forward to resuming their studies after a period of uncertainty.
