DEBORAH CHIAMAKA CHUKWUEMEKA AN OVERALL BEST GRADUATING FEMALE STUDENT OF THE PENTECOST UNIVERSITY, GHANA, 2022.

Deborah Chiamaka Chukwuemeka was born in Lagos, Nigeria, into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Adanna Chukwuemeka Ekechi. She started her elementary school in Dennis nursery and primary school Ezeogba Emekuku, Nigeria, which is in her home town. This was her beginning of her tremendous academic excellence and she is known by both teachers and colleagues at that time.

After that she relocated to Porthacourt with her parents and continued her primary school in Sofene Model School (Primary 1-2) and Frontline International School (Primary 3-5).

Deborah Chiamaka Chukwuemeka partly enrolled in Junior Secondary School (JSS), as it is being called in Nigeria, in Kina Education Center in Woji Porthacourt and further completed her Secondary School Education in Chamber International School, Woji Porthacourt, Nigeria.

As part of her academic excellence she also has an innate leadership skills so she stood for the position of the Assistant Sanitary Prefect.

However, before gaining admission into the tertiary institution, she took some gap years and worked as a teacher in Mustard Seed School. This is to horn her soft skills, where she taught in pre nursery to primary 3 in the year 2012 and 2014 respectively, and went ahead to win the best teacher of the year award.

She finally got admitted into School of Nursing Amachara, Abia State, Nigeria in 2015 and did academically well to get an award as the Overall Best Matriculating Student during her Capping Ceremony after successfully passing PTS Exam (Preliminary Training Service).

Deborah Chiamaka Chukwuemeka also held a post as the Director of Sanitation for one academic year during her days at the nursing training school.

She finally graduated in November, 2018 after successfully passing the National Council Examination and obtaining the Registered Nurse Certificate and a License to practice as a Nurse in Nigeria.

In the year 2019, she got a job as a Registered Nurse in Tehilah Children Hospital, Peter Odili Road, Porthacourt where she had her first work experience as a Registered Nurse.

She also held some exceptional certificates in relation to health and nursing. These certificates include;

  • Certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • BBP (Blood Borne Pathogens).

More so doing she once won Staff of the Month during her time as a staff at the hospital.

Since Deborah Chiamaka Chukwuemeka is enthusiastic and dedicated to studies and achieving her goals she further decided to go for further education in Ghana.

She gained admission into the Pentecost University, Ghana, in February, 2020 and got a side job aside schooling at Skin Treats Ghana where she sold body creams, perfumes etc.

In her days at the University, It is noteworthy that she was the only Nigerian (An International Student) in her class.

With much efforts, self-discipline and dedication to studies, Deborah Chiamaka Chukwuemeka emerge as the Overall Best Graduating Female Student out of 6000 graduating students and with First Class Honours in BSc. Nursing on December 17th, 2022 from the Pentecost University, Ghana.
