COMING HOME FROM MAKOLA (REFLECTIONS ON EXODUS I & II FROM THE CITY)
The city can be many things we call it. But it’s nothing compared to the countryside, so as the time to go home draws near, Tell my people , I am providing the needed beer, I’m coming home.
My heart overflows with yearning and the tears roll down my cheeks like rocks and pull the breath from my lungs. I have walked through the skin on the soles of my feet winding through another people’s region’s streets, another people’s pain where there’s traffic jam and the people crowded just trying to make a living.

That finds its way to our front door on the summer morning’s swollen with heat.
As the sun sets on Makola's bustling street,
I journey home with weary feet,
Carrying memories of sights and sounds,
In my heart, a sense of peace abounds.
The market's chaos now left behind,
In my mind, its vibrant colors bind,
A tapestry of life and trade,
In Makola's essence, my soul is swayed.
Through winding alleys, I make my way,
Each step closer to where I lay,
My head to rest, my spirit free,
Coming home, where I long to be.
The fragrance of spices lingers near,
Whispers of laughter I still hear,
Makola's spirit follows me,
As I return to where I'm meant to be.
So let me cherish this journey's end,
In the comfort of home, with family and friend,
For in Makola's vibrant dome,
I find solace, and I find my home.
I miss the voices and words of my people. I miss those memories written on the tablet of my heart.
