GTEC Halts August Salaries for College of Education Teachers

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has issued a directive to withhold the August 2024 salaries of teaching staff at Colleges of Education across the country. This decision was communicated in a letter dated 19th August 2024, addressed to the Director of Payroll at the Controller & Accountant General's Department (CAGD).

According to the letter, GTEC has requested that no payments be made to the teaching staff until further notice from the Commission. However, the salaries of College Principals and their Vice-Principals are to be processed and paid as usual.

This directive follows a previous letter from GTEC dated 23rd July 2024, which the Commission referenced in its latest communication. GTEC Acting Director General, Prof. Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, signed the letter and requested the cooperation of all parties involved.
