NTC Opens Registration for 2025 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE 1): A Comprehensive Guide for Aspiring Teachers

This examination is a critical step toward professional certification for educators across Ghana and is compulsory for all individuals who wish to be licensed to teach in the country’s educational institutions.

NTC's Mandate and the Purpose of the GTLE

Established under the Education Regulatory Bodies Act 2020 (Act 1023), the National Teaching Council is tasked with regulating the teaching profession in Ghana. The GTLE, according to the NTC, is designed to assess whether prospective teachers meet the National Teachers’ Standards in areas such as professional knowledge, practice, values, and attitudes—essential components for effective delivery in classrooms.
