DEATH TRAP HIT THE PEOPLE OF PAPASE AND DOMEFAASE AS BRIDGE COLLAPSES

Before a decade now, Papase, a community within the Ga West Municipality and Domefaase  also in the Ga South Municipality both in Greater Accra Region share boundary with the River Densu separating them. However, members from Kofi Kwei, Paanor, Domefaase and its environs which are all farming communities  within the Ga South Municipality find it so difficult connecting to Accra Central, Adjen Kotoku, Papase and its environs due to this River Densu. They only find routes to Accra by Using Eastern Region, precisely Nsawam and  to most of their places. This has been a challenge for sometime over those years especially with the transportation of food stuffs to Accra.

In the year 2011 to 2012, fortune hit these neighboring communities as a Bridge was constructed on the River to aid  smooth and ease transportation to and fro.
This said Bridge has honestly served the communities so well and has made life easy for its members as a major road connecting most towns in Greater Accra Region to the Eastern Region.

Nonetheless, there has been a bad news as an eye witness, Dennis Apeku narrated that the Bridge, which has been serving for about ten years now has partly collapsed today, 3rd October, 2022 after a heavy downpour of rain from Saturday through to Monday within the jurisdiction causing the River Densu to overflow its banks.

He further explained that cars and other trucks can no longer use the Bridge because of its current state and even posses a great threat to persons, cyclists and motorists if not renovated within the shortest possible time.
In his Narration, he made it known that no one has so far been injured but anticipating such incident if actions are not being taken immediately.

Other residents of these earlier mentioned communities are crying out so loudly as they can't believe going back to their over a decade ways of transportation.
We then advice that the two Municipal Chief Executives for these communities apply measures so quickly as they are yet to visit the site.
