PRESIDENTS OF COLLEGES UNDER KNUST
CONSENSUS BY THE 5 PUBLIC COLLEGES AFFILIATED TO KNUST CALLING FOR SUSPENSION OF THE L200 AND L300 EXAMINATION UNTIL JANUARY 2023
The SRC Presidents of the 5 Public Colleges of Education affiliated to KNUST have upon numerous engagements and consultations with its constituents and other stakeholders and in its earlier release have agreed that, the end of Semester Examinations for both L200s and L300s be suspended till next year. ie. January 2023.
Our agreement has been outlined based on the following grounds:
1. Trainees affected by the CETAG industrial action have lost five weeks of contact hours with their tutors; both in the first and second phases of the semester which make writing examinations very difficult and goes contrary to the assessment principles in education.
2. Tutors were not able to finish their course topics before the effectiveness of the CETAG industrial strike action.
3. Most trainees who could not stand the pressure and hardships imposed by the CETAG strike action. Students per engagement are academically and psychologically unprepared to sit for the examination.
4. The academic calendar of 1200 students ends on the 9th of December 2023, which means they have to leave campus for their various homes. The majority of them are not on campus and for that reason cannot come to complete the remaining days unless next year.
