Mr. Kabasman Francis | AcCE Centre President (DESA-UEW)

Profile

Kabasman Francis is a Ghanaian educator, professional driver, student leader, and committed political activist whose life journey epitomises resilience, dedication, and service to community and nation.

Born on 15th September 1992 in Dzodze Ablorme in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region, Francis is the only child of Gifty Fumi and the late Yao Kabasman. His upbringing in a humble environment laid a strong foundation for the values of hard work and perseverance that continue to define his journey.

Francis began his early education in Kasu, later transferring to the E.P. School in Dzodze Ablorme, before completing his Basic Education at Bodi Anglican Junior High School in 2010. He pursued secondary education at Sefwi Juaboso Senior High School, where he graduated in 2013.

Driven by practical skills and the need to contribute meaningfully to society, he trained at the Lower Driving Academy, where he earned a Diploma in Driving and secured a Category D professional license, qualifying him as a commercial driver.

However, his passion for education could not be ignored. In 2017, he took a bold step and enrolled at the Accra College of Education, earning a Diploma in Basic Education in 2020. After passing the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination and completing his national service in 2021, he was employed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) as a professional teacher.

His commitment to academic and professional advancement led him to the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), where he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Basic Education, with a major in Mathematics and Science, through the Distance Education Programme. At the Accra College of Education Centre, he serves as the Centre President of the Distance Education Students Association (DESA), reflecting his ability to inspire and lead his peers.

Political Involvement and Activism

Beyond the classroom, Kabasman Francis is an active and passionate political actor. In 2019, during his time at the Accra College of Education, he co-founded the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) chapter on campus — a key student wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). His early engagement in political organising laid the groundwork for a deeper role in Ghana's democratic processes.

He has consistently played key roles in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 general elections, working behind the scenes and on the frontlines to ensure effective grassroots mobilisation, voter education, and electoral integrity. His tireless work earned him trust within the party, and he now serves as the Branch Secretary of the NDC at ATRACO B, located in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

Personality and Leadership Traits

Kabasman Francis is known for his humility, discipline, and unwavering sense of responsibility. Whether behind the wheel, in front of a classroom, or at the centre of political organising, Francis demonstrates focus, leadership, and a people-first mindset. He is approachable, pragmatic, and results-oriented — traits that have won him the admiration of both students and colleagues alike.

His unique combination of hands-on skills, academic pursuits, and political engagement makes him a well-rounded personality with a promising future in public service and education.

Vision for the Future

Francis remains committed to continuous personal development, community service, and nation-building. As a teacher, he aspires to mentor the next generation of change-makers. As a political leader, he envisions a society where every Ghanaian child, regardless of background, has access to quality education and equal opportunities.

His life story is a beacon of hope — proof that with determination, one can rise from humble beginnings to become a force for change.
