Empowering Future Educators: College Desk Ghana Sensitises Trainees at Accra College of Education

AcCE Trainees Present

College Desk Ghana today engaged teacher trainees of Accra College of Education in an impactful sensitisation session focused on how to explore and access academic resources effectively through the platform.

The session, held during lunch hours, brought together enthusiastic trainees eager to discover structured, Ghana-focused academic support beyond the traditional classroom setting.

A Proud Homecoming

The engagement was particularly significant as it was led by Proser Wise Amegbe, a 2023 alumnus of the college. During his time on campus, he served as President of the Volta Regional Students Association (VoRSA), contested as a 2022 SRC Presidential Candidate, and was the brain behind the 2023 SRC Online Election Portal — a digital innovation that enhanced the electoral process on campus.

Returning not as a student leader but as the Founder and CEO of College Desk Ghana, his message was clear: access to organised academic information is a powerful tool for success.

Bridging the Academic Resource Gap

During the session, trainees were taken through a live demonstration of the College Desk Ghana platform. The presentation focused on:

  • How to navigate the homepage effectively
  • How to use the search feature to locate specific materials
  • Accessing past questions and academic content
  • Finding education-related news and scholarship opportunities
  • Exploring teaching and professional development resources

The discussion highlighted a common challenge among trainees — difficulty in finding structured, Ghana-relevant academic materials online. Many students rely solely on lecture notes or search engines that often produce foreign or misaligned content.

College Desk Ghana was presented as a solution to this gap — a centralised academic hub designed to support students throughout their training and beyond.

Promoting Continuous Learning

A key message shared during the sensitisation was that great teachers are continuous learners. As future professional educators, trainees were encouraged to go beyond classroom notes and cultivate a habit of research, exploration, and staying informed about developments in the education sector.

The platform was positioned not just as a website, but as a digital academic companion that can support:

  • Exam preparation
  • Assignment research
  • Teaching practice preparation
  • Scholarship applications
  • Professional growth after graduation

Engagement and Participation

The interactive nature of the session allowed trainees to reflect on their academic challenges and ask questions about how the platform could meet their needs. The live navigation and practical demonstration helped participants see firsthand how simple and accessible the platform is.

Looking Ahead

The sensitisation marks another step in College Desk Ghana’s mission to make academic resources more accessible to students and teacher trainees across the country.

As education continues to evolve in the digital age, platforms like College Desk Ghana remain committed to supporting learners with credible, structured, and relevant academic content.

Teacher trainees were encouraged to explore the platform, bookmark it, and make it their first academic stop when seeking educational materials.
